The We Promise Foundation extends our mission to our children.

The We Promise Foundation is dedicated to making dreams come true for children struggling with degenerative, life-threatening, debilitating or chronic illnesses, or those facing tremendous hardship.

The foundation provides funding within the communities we serve with a single goal: To put a smile on a child’s face.

The foundation was launched in 2005 based on the enduring success of Chartway’s charitable events. Since 1999, Chartway and We Promise Foundation have raised over $9 million to help thousands of children through our partnerships with numerous chapters of The Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children, Families of Autistic Children in Tidewater, Toby’s Dream Foundation, Roc Solid Foundation, Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters and other charitable children’s groups who share our passion and mission to make a difference.

See how you can help "put smiles on the faces of children by making their dreams come true."

More about the Event

Our CARE team supports fundraising events each year for local and national programs.

Making a difference in our communities has always been the cornerstone of our company. It’s no surprise, then, that we have several established philanthropic groups.

Our Community Action Response (CARE) Team is led by credit union employees. The CARE Team supports many charitable events, including hosting the following events each year:

  • Warm the Soles
  • Toys for Tots
  • Operation Pack a Backpack
  • Clothing Drive
  • Community Cleanups

The CARE Team also launched the We Serve Reserve, a fund to assist co-workers in times of crisis. Each year, we host many fundraisers to raise funds to support fellow co-workers in need.

Quarters for Kids

Small Change. Big Difference.

As parents, we dream that our children will grow up to be doctors, teachers, or whatever their hearts desire. But we never imagine that they won’t grow up at all. When children are diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses, their lives change.

At the We Promise Foundation, we are dedicated to making dreams come true for children struggling with degenerative, life-threatening, debilitating, or chronic illnesses, or those facing extreme hardship. What if we told you that for as little as a quarter, you could help bring the healing power of joy and happiness to a child? That’s what Quarters for Kids is all about – bringing a smile to the faces of children facing tremendous battles.

The Quarters for Kids campaign was designed to bring the community together with a very specific goal: to increase the funding made available to make dreams come true for these very brave children.

For as little as twenty-five cents per month you can make magic happen...

...for Winter, whose dream vacation to the sunny shores of the Florida Keys added a little warmth to her journey in the fight against cancer.

...for Fred, future astronaut, who got to spend an exciting space-filled day at NASA.

...for 2-year old Mia, who now gets to enjoy her very own adventures on her pirate- themed play park while she battles leukemia.

Costs so little. Means so much.

Sign up today – You can help put a smile on a child’s face tomorrow. All it takes is small change to make a big difference. We Promise. Will you?
