Virginia Beach, VA (June 1, 2022) – The Chartway Promise Foundation – the charitable arm of Chartway Credit Union – is proud to announce that three leaders have been appointed to serve on its board.

Lance Brown

Brown is a development officer and business professor for Utah Tech University, where his efforts have contributed to the university's explosive growth, the building of a new football stadium and a state-of-the-art human performance center, and the school’s transition to Division 1 status. Previously, he worked for Nest Inc., where he was recognized as top salesman, top recruiter, and top sales manager. Brown earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and a master's degree in executive leadership.

Theresa Delp

Delp joined Chartway in 1994 and currently serves as the vice president of corporate planning, partnering with the board and senior leadership team to provide strategic advice, help implement Chartway’s strategic plan, and oversee the administrative team. She previously served on the foundation’s board from 2016 – 2018. Delp is a graduate of Virginia Wesleyan University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business.

Lara Shields

A member for more than 20 years, Shields became an associate director in February 2021 and joined Chartway’s board in November 2021. Additionally, Shields is vice chair of Chartway's legislative, regulatory & advocacy committee and the owner/executive director of Kids Park Child Development Centers located in Tooele County, Utah – a family-owned business serving Tooele County since 1997. Shields leads a team of more than 100 staff and teachers who offer full-time programs for children ages six weeks to 12 years.

Since 1999, the Chartway Promise Foundation has raised more than $13 million to bring joy, hope, and smiles to children facing medical hardship.
