Virginia Beach, VA (November 9, 2021) – Chartway Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that current members of Chartway’s associate director development program, Lara Shields and Ron da Silva, have been appointed to serve on its board.

A member for more than 20 years, Shields serves as the owner/executive director of Kids Park Child Development Centers located in Tooele County, Utah – a family-owned business that has served Tooele County since 1997. Shields leads a team of more than 100 staff and teachers who offer full-time programs for children ages six weeks to 12 years old in three locations. In addition to being a member of Chartway’s associate director development program, Shields is also a member of Chartway’s strategic planning committee.

A member for more than 40 years and an internet technology expert with more than 25 years of experience, da Silva serves as the vice president of operations for Quantum Loophole where he leads the construction of master-planned, decarbonized cloud communities that are gigawatt scaled and environmentally progressive. A NACD Certified Board Governance Fellow, da Silva graduated from Old Dominion University with a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics and english. In addition to being a member of Chartway’s associate director development program, da Silva is also a member of Chartway’s ALM committee.
