Grand Opening Celebration for New Lynnhaven Branch & Direct Teller Technology

Virginia Beach, VA (Mar. 28, 2018) – With the help of Will Sessoms, Virginia Beach mayor; Brenda Roberts, district director, Office of Congressman Scott Taylor; Priscilla Monte, senior vice president, programs & communications, Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce; Michelle Chapleau, business development coordinator, Virginia Beach Economic Development; and Norfolk Tides Mascots, Rip Tide and Triton, Chartway Federal Credit Union recently celebrated the Grand Opening of its newly-relocated branch located at 100 Lynnhaven Parkway in Virginia Beach.

“I appreciate the dedication Chartway has shown to more than 180,000 members by making life more affordable for them,” said Congressman Scott Taylor (R-Va).  “I want to thank you for the contributions you make to local communities and for being a leader in charitable organizations such as the We Promise Foundation. I look forward to watching Chartway grow, thrive, and serve its members and the community. Best of luck with this new branch.”

Virginia Beach mayor, Will Sessoms, agreed. During his remarks at the Grand Opening event, he added, “I’m very proud and honored to be here today because I have the greatest respect for this organization. This company has been very successful because you do a good job and you have good people. And then the most important thing, you give back to the community. You all have stepped up and done that year after year. I wish Chartway continued success.”

Chartway’s newest branch features modern, inviting, and engaging member spaces and new technology to improve the ease, speed, and efficiency in which members can conduct their business, including Direct Teller – an Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) that allows members to speak with a live teller using two-way video from the convenience of their car. Beyond convenience, this technology significantly improves current drive-thru waiting lines by reducing transaction processing times by as much as 50%.

“Our Lynnhaven branch is the first to benefit from Direct Teller – our new, interactive teller technology that facilitates fast, accurate, and personal interactions at our drive-thru.  In fact, Chartway is the first credit union in Hampton Roads to deploy this NCR 80 series ITM technology. We’re looking forward to offering this convenient service in more locations soon,” said Brian Schools, Chartway’s president and CEO.
