Chartway is proud to announce its sponsorship of the 1st Annual Virginia Is For Lovers 14K and 1.4 Mile Run to be held on February 14th, 2009 in Virginia Beach.

Managed by the same team who produces the annual Shamrock Marathon in Virginia Beach, the Virginia Is For Lovers 14K and 1.4 Mile Run kicks off and finishes at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater concluding with an awards ceremony and post race party featuring award winning local talent. Over 2000 runners of all ages and abilities are expected to participate.

A portion of the proceeds from the race will go to Chartway’s We Promise Foundation. This non-profit charitable arm of Chartway was created to put a smile on a child’s face by making their dream come true. Since 1999, Chartway and its We Promise Foundation have raised more than $1.3 million in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern Virginia, Families of Autistic Children in Tidewater and other Hampton Roads-area charitable groups.  For more information, visit www.WePromiseFoundation.com.
