Everett Lou Gull, Chartway Federal Credit Union’s Chairman of the Board, was chosen as Volunteer of the Year by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU). Gull and other winners in NAFCU’s 2008 Award programs will be honored in conjunction with NAFCU’s 41st Annual Conference next month in San Diego. “Gull has been a valuable asset to Chartway Federal Credit Union, demonstrating exemplary leadership skills and ardent dedication that is an inspiration to his colleagues,” said Ron Burniske, CEO. “This award is a testament to his outstanding services on behalf our members.” This year was the first for a new category within the yearly Awards Competition: CEO of the Year was added, with the Professional of the Year category reserved for non-CEO staff of NAFCU-member credit unions. The Awards Competition named the Federal Credit Union of the Year, CEO of the Year, Professional of the Year and Volunteer of the Year in two credit union asset-size categories. Gull was a winner among credit unions with150 million or more in assets. Awards Competition winners will be feted during the Awards Ceremony July 11 at NAFCU’s 41st Annual Conference & Exhibition and profiled in an upcoming issue of The Federal Credit Union magazine.
In 1981, Everett Gull joined Chartway Federal Credit Union as a member of the Supervisory Committee, and proudly served this committee until 1996. He has been a critical asset to the credit union family as Chairman of the Board of Directors since 2005. Gull has a B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University, is a Vietnam Era-Veteran and retired from Federal Service after 36 years of loyal service.
