Chartway Awards $13,500 In Scholarships

Chartway Federal Credit Union is proud to introduce its 2008 Director’s Memorial Scholarship Winners, each of whom were awarded $1,500 toward higher education:

  • Jennifer B. Ambler - George Mason University, Fairfax, VA
  • Andrew S. Crossman - Hickory High School, Chesapeake, VA
  • Gillea C. David - Ocean Lakes High School, Virginia Beach, VA
  • Katie M. Foster - The Art Institution of Washington, Arlington, VA
  • Erin M. Jentz - Klein Collins High School, Spring, TX
  • Jessica N. Lee - Great Bridge High School, Chesapeake, VA
  • Zeal Patel - Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VA
  • Joshua M. Siddens - University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC
  • David A. Stroupe - University of Houston, Houston, TX

The 2008 scholarship pool was unique in that nine recipients were selected, an increase from the seven awards given in years past. These winners were selected among the 45 applications received.

Chartway’s Director’s Memorial Scholarship applications are open to any member who is currently a high school senior, current college student, or graduate school student. Winners are selected based on need, GPA, essay, and extracurricular activities. Chartway hosted a reception honoring these students on Wednesday, June 18th at their Corporate Center.
