Considerations By Nominating Committe
A member in good standing submitting their name for consideration by the Nominating Committee must submit a statement of qualification and biographical data with the request for consideration. The Nominating Committee will be looking for the following qualities and prerequisites (not all-inclusive) when evaluating a prospective nominee:

Time Commitment - The nominee must be willing to make a commitment to devote a significant amount of his/her personal time as a director by attending regularly scheduled and special meetings as well as working on various committee assignments.

Member Awareness - Nominees should have a sufficient understanding of credit union philosophy in general and Chartway membership, in particular, to be able to develop policies and programs which will meet the financial needs of our members.

Communications - The ability to communicate and interact with the team of elected and appointed volunteers and regular staff is essential to being an effective Director.

Credit History - Nominees must have a good credit history and be bondable. Elected Directors must maintain that standard.

Ethics/Character - The background of nominees should reflect a high degree of personal character and integrity, both social and professional. If elected, nominees must be prepared to avoid all conflicts of interest which could or appear to impair the judgements and decisions affecting the credit union.

Background - Nominees should possess sufficient education and/or experience in a position of responsibility involving decision making, to provide the background to be an effective Director of a large credit union.

Objectivity - A key factor in the making of an effective Director is the ability to analyze and evaluate the situations that constantly confront credit union management and the Board. Directors must be able to make objective decisions in those situations.
